Do I need to sign a lease?

Not at Parkville Manor. Suites are rented on a monthly basis. A damage deposit is required to reserve your suite. Should your plans change before you move in, your deposit is 100% refundable. If you are moving out, we require 30 days notice on the first of the month.

What about security and emergency call systems?

Parkville Manor is monitored 24 hours a day for fire and smoke. We also have over 20 security cameras and professional security guards that patrol both the Park Town Hotel and Parkville Manor to ensure the safety and well being of both guests and residents. Solid concrete construction and state of the art engineering make Parkville Manor a safe and secure building to live in. Our main entrance is locked at all times and guests are permitted entry by each resident through the EnterPhone system. Closed circuit television allows you to see who is arriving at the front entrance, and it allows our staff to monitor many common areas within the building at all times. An emergency call system is monitored 24 hours a day so you can alert staff should help be needed.

Do you provide for special diets?

Our Chefs use their expertise as well as industry research to create menus especially designed for older adults. Meals are low in sodium and fat and the desserts are lower in fat or sugar. We have numerous choices at each meal for both entree and side dishes, including a daily vegetarian option. Our menus follow Canada's Food Guide for portion size and nutritional value. Our staff will work with residents to ensure they understand all of the ordering options available to them, and to help them make good food choices.

Are there assigned seats in the dining room?

Although some people choose to sit at the same table or with friends at meal times, we do not assign seats in our dining room. Our meals are served over the course of 1 1/2 hours… residents can come down to meals at their leisure.

Can I cook in my suite?

Of course. Parkville Manor furnishes each suite with a fridge and a microwave. Residents are allowed to have kettles, coffee makers and toasters that are equipped with an automatic shut off feature. We encourage you to have tea, coffee and snacks in your suite anytime you like. Coffee is also delivered every morning on each floor at the servery.

May I entertain guests?

Absolutely! Parkville Manor has a private dining room that residents can reserve for special occasions or when the whole family comes to visit. We also will cater to larger groups in our ballroom. You can work with our Chefs and dining staff to create the perfect menu for your celebration, or you may choose to order off our daily menu. Our guest meals and catering menu are very reasonably priced – let us do all the work so you can have all the fun!

Do you have barrier free suites?

Yes. We have a number of suites available that are considered "barrier-free". They have lower closet shelving, easy access walk in showers and additional grab bars already installed in the bathroom.

Will there be computer hook-ups in suites?

Yes. Data wiring will be provided in the suites. There is free wireless service on each floor, as well as hook-ups should you want your own private network (In this case residents are responsible for hook-up and provider fees).

Will guests and family have to pay for parking while they are visiting?

No. Guests and Family will receive a parking pass to park in Hotel Guest Parking free.

Do you allow pets? Do you allow pets to visit?

We do allow visits, but we do not allow pets to live at Parkville Manor.

Is Parkville affiliated with any spiritual organizations?

As a privately owned facility Parkville Manor is not affiliated with any spiritual organizations.

Do residents have any voice in the community?

Yes. At Parkville Manor there are many opportunities for Residents to meet with the management team to offer suggestions and to discuss ideas. Meet the Chef and Town Hall meetings are held regularly.

What kinds of activities do you have?

Parkville offers a wide range of activities that help residents to fulfill their desire to remain intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually active. Whether it's excursions to local cultural attractions, fitness classes, walking groups, book or card clubs, current event discussions, you'll be able to pursue your interests and discover new ones.

Parkville also has an onsite Activity Director who offers and hosts a wide range of activities based on what we have found residents like, as well as feedback and suggestions from our residents.

How about parking the car?

We have reserved parking for our residents on the 3rd level of the parkade. These car parks are provided at a minimal cost. We also have heated underground parking available with access from your vehicle to your suit.

Can I expect an annual increase in the monthly fee?

We do have price increased yearly, ranging from 3-4%. After 10 years you will never have another price increase as long as you live at Parkville Manor.

How are the monthly fees determined?

Monthly fees vary and are determined by suite type, size and location. Prices begin at $2,400/month and include 3 meals a day with choices, medical drives, activities, weekly housekeeping, 24/hour home support and 24/hour snacks.

What is the minimum age to move to Parkville Manor?

Residents must be 55 years old to live at Parkville Manor. If couples wish to move here, only one person needs to meet this requirement.

Do you offer assisted living?

Parkville Manor is not a personal care home or a long-term care facility. As a retirement housing community, Parkville Manor provides the following assisted living services: Bathing, dressing and toileting.

However, we do offer 24 hour home support and can help with all our residents needs, with the exception of lifts and injections.

What does my monthly rent include?

Three meals a day plus the continental breakfast option, 24 hour snack table, and 24 hour coffee and tea available. We also include weekly linen/housekeeping/towel service, wellness and recreation programs, most activities, utilities, in suite emergency system, local transportation, mini fridge and microwave, use of the hotel pool, sauna and hot tub. VIP discount card for meals at the Park Town Hotel.
