Do I need to sign a lease?
Not at Parkville Manor. Suites are rented on a month to month basis. A damage deposit is required to reserve your suite. Should your plans change before you move in, your deposit is 100% refundable.

What about security and emergency call systems?
Parkville Manor is monitored 24 hours a day for fire and smoke. Solid concrete construction and state of the art engineering make Parkville Manor a safe and secure building to live in. Our main entrance is locked at all times and guests are permitted entry by each resident through the enterphone system. Closed circuit television allows you to see who is arriving at the front entrance, and it allows our staff to monitor many common areas within the building at all times.
Each resident is issued an emergency pendant when they move in. This emergency call system is monitored 24 hours a day... one push is all it takes to alert staff that help is needed.

Do you provide for special diets?
Our Chefs use their expertise as well as industry research to create menus especially designed for older adults. Meals are low in sodium and fat and the desserts are lower in fat or sugar. We have numerous choices at each meal for both entree and side dishes, including a daily vegetarian option. Our menus follow Canada's Food Guide for portion size and nutritional value. Our staff will work with residents to ensure they understand all of the ordering options available to them, and to help them make good food choices.

Are there assigned seats in the dining room?
Although some people choose to sit at the same table or with friends at meal times, we do not assign seats in our dining room. Our meals are served over the course of 1 1/2 hours... residents can come down to meals at their leisure.

Can I cook in my suite?
Of course. Parkville Manor furnishes each suite with a fridge and a microwave. Residents are allowed to have kettles, coffee makers and toasters that are equipped with an automatic shut off feature. We encourage you to have tea, coffee and snacks in your suite anytime you like.

May I entertain guests?
Absolutely! Parkville Manor has a private dining room that residents can reserve for special occasions or when the whole family comes to visit. We also will cater to larger groups in our ballroom. You can work with our Chefs and dining staff to create the perfect menu for your celebration, or you may choose to order off our daily menu. Our guest meals and catering menu are very reasonably priced - let us do all the work so you can have all the fun!

Do you have barrier free suites?
Yes. We have a number of suites available that are considered "barrier-free". They have lower closet shelving, easy access walk in showers and additional grab bars already installed in the bathroom.

Will there be computer hook-ups in suites?
Yes. Data wiring will be provided in the suites. Residents would be responsible for hook-up and provider fees.

Yes. At Parkville Manor there are many opportunities for Residents to meet with the management team to offer suggestions and to discuss ideas. Meet the Chef and Town Hall meetings are held regularly.

Parkville offers a wide range of activities that help residents to fulfill their desire to remain intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually active. Whether it's excursions to local cultural attractions, fitness classes, walking groups, book or card clubs, current event discussions, you'll be able to pursue your interests and discover new ones.

What is the minimum age to move to Parkville Manor?
Residents must be 55 years old to live at Parkville Manor. If couples wish to move here, only one person needs to meet this requirement.

Parkville Manor is not a personal care home or a long-term care facility. As a retirement housing community, Parkville Manor provides independent living with supportive programs and services to ensure that each of our residents may enjoy life to the fullest extent possible.
