Do you offer assisted living?

Parkville is not a “personal care” or long term nursing care centre. As a retirement housing project, Parkville provides gracious retirement accommodation with supportive programs to promote active, independent living.
What is the minimum age to move to Parkville Manor?

Age 65 and older.
Do I Sign A Lease?
Top ^  
Not at Parkville… suites are rented month to month. A $200.00 reservation deposit will reserve the suite of your choice. Should your plans change, the deposit is one hundred percent (100%) refundable.

Do you have security?

Parkville Manor is monitored 24 hours per day for fire and smoke, but our security goes much further. The building is secured 24 hours daily, combining enterphone/television monitoring.

Do you provide special diets?

Our Chefs use their expertise as well as industry research to create menus especially for older adults. Meals are lower in sodium and fat and the desserts are lower in fat and sugar. Special diets will be provided only on physician’s instruction.

Are there assigned seats in the dining room?

Although some people choose to sit at the same table or with the same friends at dinner, we do not assign seats in our dining rooms.

Can I cook in my apartment?

Of course, Parkville furnishes each suite with a mini fridge and a microwave. We encourage you to have tea/coffee and snacks in your suite whenever you want.

Can I entertain guests?

Parkville Manor has a private dining room that you can reserve for special celebrations. You may work with our remarkably innovative chefs to create the perfect menu—including favorite family recipes—or you are welcome to order from the regular menu. We will bring in a server to see to you and your guests—and you don't even have to worry about washing the dishes! *A moderate fee will be applied to these services.

How about parking the car?

We have reserved parking for our residents on the 3rd level of the parkade. These car parks are provided at a minimal cost.

How are the monthly fees determined?

Monthly fees vary by each residence's size, location.

Can I expect an annual increase in the monthly fee?

To accommodate increases in prices and to maintain the highest standards in the quality of services and amenities provided, an increase in the monthly fee may be required.

Do you have a guest apartment for my family to stay in when they visit me from out of town?

Parkville Manor is right next door to the Park Town Hotel which offers some of Saskatoon’s finest accommodations; this adds a whole new dimension to retirement living. Invite your family and friends to visit anytime – there’s plenty of room for everyone. They’ll be so close it will seem like they are staying with you!

What kinds of activities do you have?

Parkville offers a wide range of activities that help residents to fulfill their desire to remain intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually active. Whether it's excursions to local cultural attractions, fitness classes, walking groups, book or card clubs, current event discussions, you'll be able to pursue your interests and discover new ones.

Do residents have any voice in the community?

Yes. Parkville Manor will have an active Resident Council that provides the community with valuable input about services, programs, activities and other items that concern residents. The council also may sponsor resident committees, for example, welcoming programs, volunteer, housekeeping, health services, and others.

Is Parkville affiliated with any spiritual organizations?

As a privately owned facility Parkville Manor is not affiliated with any spiritual organizations.

Do you allow pets? Do you allow pets to visit?

We do allow visits, but we do not allow pets to live at Parkville Manor

Will guests and family have to pay for parking while they are visiting?

No. They will use hotel guest parking.

Will there be computer hook-ups in suites?

Top ^  
Yes. Data wiring will be provided in the suites. Residents would be responsible for hook-up and provider fees.

Do you have barrier free suites?

Top ^  
Yes. All Suites on the 4th floor are barrier-free. Additionally, Suites #503 & 504, 703 & 704, 903 & 904, and 1103 & 1104 are barrier-free.
